Protecting Children, “In the Spirit of Elijah”

My previous post on John the Baptist pointed out how he “announced the light of life,” [Jesus] but was NOT himself the light.
Today’s Gospel is about the angel announcing to Zechariah that his wife Elizabeth would give birth to a son, John the Baptist, even though she was old and barren, and that he would come in the spirit of Elijah to announce the coming of the Messiah.
The deep wisdom for today is the part that talks about the kind of preparation we are supposed to be engaged in if we are indeed following the inspiration of the same spirit of Elijah, which is a spirit that above all else announces the coming of God to earth.
Notice that the angel does not say turn the hearts of fathers to their OWN children, but simply “to children”.
Is that not what is now happening today, with more and more men who have been trained and propagandized their entire life into spending all their energy, time and attention earning money, thinking that was their contribution to the family, realizing that it was their heart they should have given to the children, along with their attention so they could witness how they’re being neglected, exploited and destroyed?
Is it not the case that many men are indeed hearing the call to turn their attention and hearts back to children now so severely under attack by so many different evils?
Many now are also hearing the call in the spirit of Elijah to turn away from an empty life of sin to embrace obedience to God’s holy commands, and as a result are gaining the insight and understanding of the righteous, which is the eagle’s eye view from which God gazes lovingly on the world.
If you feel inspired to win others to join you and those now standing against the many evils of our day corrupting, victimizing and destroying children, then you have the spirit of Elijah in you!
If you feel inspired to win others to realize the truth that judgment is about to come upon the world to condemn sin and corruption by the same Jesus who first came to earth announcing mercy and salvation, and that the time is now short for each of us to repent of our sins and to then abandon ourselves to the Holy will of God, then you have the spirit of Elijah in you.
