Is this a reminder before the coming tempest, tribulation and persecution?
When we see a rainbow in the sky we normally don’t see clouds in the sky right on top of the rainbow, or the rainbow “inside a cloud”.
The colored spans we’re familiar with show up as arcs in the sky, appearing after and behind rain clouds, following in their wake, hanging in the clearing sky refracting light into colors from the lingering mist.
Such rainbows aren’t the kind that God said He would send as a reminder of his first and most important promise and Covenant we find recorded in Scripture: with Noah, and keep in mind, we are now living in days as in the days of Noah!
God promised Noah He’d send RARE rainbows, the ones that manifest INSIDE CLOUDS, exactly like those described in the attached article discussing the recent protracted appearance of these unique rainbows in the northern hemisphere.
“I have set my rainbow IN THE CLOUDS and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life.” [Genesis 9 Colon 13-15].
If you go to Strong’s Hebrew concordance, the transliterated phrase-structure of the three Hebrew words comprising this sentence of particular importance is clear with emphasis:
” I set my rainbow, and it shall be, IN THE CLOUD.”
These “rainbows-in-the-cloud” are very rare: in fact, I’ve personally never seen one, nor heard that they even occur…. until now!
This phenomena happened from December 18th to 20th, quite continuously, and is thought will become a regular occurrence in the weeks and months ahead.
What I read into this is that much destruction is about to come upon the world, however it will not be complete destruction.
The focus now in the world is on the subsequent “Covenant” God struck with the Jewish people, not the Covenant with Noah encompassing all humanity and creation. I believe that’s unfortunate.
With the current conflict between Palestinians and Jews creating such chaos and conflict between these two groups throughout the entire world, with “ownership rights to the Holy Land” at the centre of things, we would all do well to pause and ponder the meaning of that “rainbow in the cloud” found in Scripture more carefully.
Before God’s Covenant was established with the Jewish people making them the “chosen” people of God, that very same God – YAHWEH – had ALREADY established a far-more foundational Covenant with ALL humanity and creation!
The chosen people were chosen to be witnesses of the one true God and His righteousness revealed through the law established by Moses. When they were faithful to doing that, they were persecuted or enslaved by their Pagan neighbours surrounding them.
Being faithful to being “chosen” by God led to a very long history of persecution for the Hebrew people before the time Christ was born, and the suffering, social stigmatization and persecution of the Jewish people has continued to our present day.
Likewise, Jesus told his disciples that they didn’t “choose” Him…HE chose them… chosen to follow him in a very sorrowful path full of suffering and persecution.
Being “chosen by God” is to be set aside for suffering, with a call to witness to the truth and the salvation offered by Jesus in a world that hates both the truth and Jesus.
Whether being “chosen” as a “people” entitles said group to anything else in this world, like land ownership rights, is a difficult question to answer.
On the one hand, we do indeed read in Scripture of promises from God to the chosen Jewish people that the Jewish people will eventually be presented with Land and a “New Jerusalem”.
Similarly, Jesus claimed that the “meek will inherit the earth.”
Whether it’s a New Jerusalem for the Jewish people, or a new Earth for faithful Christians, it seems to me that this is a work of God, not politicians!
Who knows when and how that’s going to happen? It will happen by the mighty power of God’s hand at a time chosen by the Father, and disclosed with precise information to NO one.
I do believe these promises from God to his chosen people about inheriting and owning land will be achieved, but not by the political and military machinations of men.
The true chosen people of God are those who seek the face of God continuously, praying and working that His will be done on earth as it is in heaven, knowing that God is a God of Peace.
God’s true chosen people can’t have a conversation with Him unless they speak the language of peace, it’s God’s Mother-tongue:
“I listen carefully to what God the LORD is saying, for he SPEAKS PEACE to his faithful people.” [Psalm 85:8].
Claims to be the “people of God” – whether Jewish or Christian – are as empty as deep space to war-mongers on both sides killing innocent people in acts of hatred.
