When a group of people all want the same thing, it’s easy to forget that the underlying, unstated beliefs, hopes, and even fundamental worldview may be so different as to make those same people vicious enemies in another context and time, if the truth was known.
If a group of 100 people, for example, are all starving, and they are presented a choice to do a few simple things together to get a full-course meal, or alternatively, they could do the tasks alone for a piece of bread and some water, you’ll never see such cooperation and unity in a group of 100 people…even if they are all strangers to one another.
But what if the issue forging cooperation and that apparent “unity of spirit” is a more serious one?
What if a more fundamental demand or question is presented that “exposes” in the response core differences among the group? Differences so diametrically-opposed that any possibility of then reconciling to establish authentic unity would require those on one side of that equation to somehow come to see the truth of the other side through respectable dialogue and debate.
Divide and conquer is the ‘strategy of choice’ to destroy false, superficial unities among people, but do it in holiness, use the “TRUTH”!
The devil is THE master craftsman with this strategy exposing differences and causing division among those following God, always on the hunt to detect those foundational differences that exist beneath group awareness, i.e.., down deep in what sociologist Emile Durkheim referred to as the “collective unconscious.”
That’s especially the case when we flawed people come together to do something good, like protect our common home and land, as I’m sure was the case with at least the vast majority of people attending the event on Sunday at the Delta.
Evil entities and evil people delight in bringing differences to the surface to create chaos, division and violence. They want to destroy authentic, but imperfect, unity among people on the same good path, and to foil attempts to bring about anything good.
In Genesis 3:1 we read:
“Now the serpent was MORE SHREWD than any of the wild animals that the Lord God had made.”
When we – those following the inspirations of the Holy Spirit – find ourselves under attack from evil, or in a group objectively on a “good path” but is feigning a false unity, nonetheless legitimately aiming to do good, then we too must be wise to use such techniques and tactics to expose any evil or deception that’s hidden and expel it with truth.
To hold high the truth will foster division, bringing to the awareness of the others all those who are “deep down” standing on the ground of deception and illusions produced by false, dominant narratives.
That’s something that’s actually not that hard to accomplish, because such people who join good movements appearing initially to be all for social justice, but who are really there for themselves, which usually shows when some important strategic work or money is required from the person at some point down-the-road.
That’s when the selfishness, and perhaps their personal-interest [i.e., they want to purchase a piece of land the monks own], makes it clear that “working together” for them was really only ever a practical means to employ the ‘collective’ to get to a ‘personal’ “end”.
There are always such people starting off looking all gung-ho who then eventually RUIN a good effort for everyone else because of their selfishness, which is sadly kept private and secret too long, and is not detected until it’s too late!
Such individuals – along with “little groups” within the “big group” holding irreconcilable and false positions – need to be exposed from the very outset, shrewdly, if the effort is to have any success.
“Behold, I am sending you like sheep in the midst of wolves; so be shrewd as serpents and simple as doves.” [Matthew 10:16].
The way to be “shrewd” is to discern where those core differences exist in the total group. Core differences that are being ignored, and find those that create fake friendships among fellows, then somehow bring that info to the surface, respectfully.
Then watch as what looked like perfect unity and enthusiastic energy aiming in unison for positive change suddenly – in a minute – becomes a disastrous dichotomy of contention, cementing the newly-discovered division with a “counter” from something that’s supported by a faction, then gets out of hand, potentially escalating into a ruckus, bringing forth expressions of condemnation of the other, insults, perhaps even violence, despite the appearance of great unity and strength in the group just minutes earlier.
When you expose the core differences, you set fire to that hidden antagonistic spirit lying beneath the surface which is potent, but unseen, like dry stubble in an old barn.
What is below eyesight level remains there unless and until that eyesight is directed toward it, down below the false spirit of unity floating on the surface captivating attention. When that happens, the illusion of unity is busted by the bringing forth of that truth pin easier than a dollar store balloon.
Once any issue that is core, essential to the go-forward strategy, on any KEY point where unity is required for a particular strategy, is exposed to the group, it is necessary to either somehow purge it, or address it with some kind of process with the aim of repairing the breach, healing the division with reconciliation establishing authentic, honest communication and a true unity of spirit among the group, the GOAL THE GROUP AIMS TO ACHIEVE WILL NEVER BE ATTAINED.
Such issues that are essential – and not simply a choice between a bad meal and a really good meal, where compromise would be easy for the sake of the group – generate “identity-defining” differences.
Busting apart fake unity takes away the power of the group which, technically-speaking, no longer exists as “a group’, despite the shared interest that first brought them together.
Avoiding and refusing to address and resolve such core divisions thinking that the appearance of unity will be enough to win the day, if maintained with a particular action strategy. It won’t.
“If a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand.” [Mark 3:25].
St. Paul knew how to work that “shrewd” strategy to divide to his advantage!

St. PAUL DRAGGED BEFORE THE SANHEDRIN BY THE ROMANS
When St. Paul travelled to Rome to win followers to Jesus, he ended up getting slapped in the mouth and put in chains by the Roman guards [long story], who then nearly freaked out when they realized Paul was a Roman citizen.
Guards putting a Roman citizen in chains was no laughing matter!
The guards tried to wash their hands off him immediately and rushed him over to the “Sanhedrin” – the high Jewish Council.
The guards were aware that the Jews knew and hated Paul, and that they wanted nothing good to come to him. They were certain they were united in that ambition, and they were not mistaken.
It wasn’t looking too good for Paul you could say….the Sanhedrin was, after all, the “Court of last resort,” and that’s where the guards took him right off the bat – straight to the Sanhedrin!
Not a lot is known exactly about the Sanhedrin. Scholars differ on various points, such as how it came to be, the precise composition of the Sanhedrin, and even the scope of duties, interests and powers of its members while under Roman occupation.
Some scholars believe the Sanhedrin was mostly involved with civil matters, others religious, but there’s evidence of involvement in both and it doesn’t matter a lot so let’s move on. ha ha
There is consensus on a few points, however, summed up in the following:
“It was a religious legislative body ‘whence the law [Halakha] goes out to all Israel.’ Politically, it could appoint the king and the high priest, declare war, and expand the territory of Jerusalem and the Temple. Judicially, it could try a high priest, a false prophet, a rebellious elder, or an errant tribe. Religiously, it supervised certain rituals, including the Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) liturgy. The Great Sanhedrin also supervised the smaller, local Sanhedrins and was the court of last resort.”
The Sanhedrin was, for all intents and purposes, a Jewish dictatorship, or “supreme council”. It could even remove a HIGH PRIEST, as it notes at the end in the quotation above, it was a “court of last resort”.
The Sanhedrin members were totally, and passionately, UNITED in their hatred of, and desire to get rid of Paul, majorly so, because he was regarded as a Class 1 traitor. You know the story about him getting knocked off his horse on the way to Damascus where he was headed to round-up and imprison Christians?
But being shrewd, like Jesus told him to be, Paul knew he was standing on an issue regarding religious worldview, which is one of those core, non-negotiable ones forming ‘identity’, but hidden and needing to be brought out in the open to test the unity of the Sanhedrin, regarding whether it was “authentic”.
Paul also knew that the unity of the group was primarily political, not religious, aiming for power, so he tore it apart with one sentence bringing that bubbling core division to the surface:
“Then Paul, knowing that some of them were Sadducees and the others Pharisees, called out in the Sanhedrin, “My brothers, I am a Pharisee, descended from Pharisees. I stand on trial because of the hope of the resurrection of the dead.” When he said this, a dispute broke out between the Pharisees and the Sadducees, and the assembly was divided.”
The assembly was not only divided, it became so contentious and violent that the Romans (again, careful to protect a Roman citizen) rushed Paul out of there immediately to safety in their own barracks!
Smooth move Paul!!
THE LAST 7 MINITES AT THE DELTA
It was like St. Paul’s mention of the resurrection from the dead to the Sanhedrin hearing that question about whether there might be a possible tie between the WEF and China!
More precisely, it was the response from the panelist, that then triggered an eruption of applause, revealing about 1/2 the group, I would guess by the sound alone, STRONGLY SUPPORTED THE SPEAKER’S views.
That immediately revealed two irreconcilable core factions among that larger group of perhaps 600 Islanders at the Delta: polar opposite positions….contrary points of view, as permanent and fixed as the dark and light sides of the moon.
Even more precisely, one should say it was the response to the panelist by the audience that made the great division at the very most foundational worldview level manifest for all to see, not the panelist’s words per se [who among us hasn’t heard a politician trying to sound authoritative on an issue he or she knows nothing about?], but that audience response.
THANK GOD FOR “QUESTIONS FROM THE FLOOR”
The Great Divide was revealed simply by asking an honest and very astute question about a possible connection between:
[1] the tyranny evident in the world economic forum, [of which the CCP is a member and funder], and [2] Bliss and Wisdom Inc., and the Buddhist monks coming to Prince Edward Island…..….was enough to expose that the apparent unity of the group was roughly half Sadducees and half Pharisees.
I could have answered that question with hard evidence in a minute, with a strong affirmative: “yep, you bet there’s a connection!”
There’s lots of evidence tying both;
(1) the Buddhist initiative to the CCP’s “Belt and Road” democracy-undermining initiative, and the
(2) CCP being a strong supporter of the WEF with many tons of evidence the WEF – a non-democratic, secretive organization run by global billionaires – is undermining democratic initiatives.
So what a great question!
The response from former Minister of Education in N.B. (a position from which he resigned, or was kicked out of, depending on who you believe) took quite a different route…the words, “polite, thoughtful and well-reasoned response” do not come to mind.
He denied that any such connection between the WEF and the CCP was even possible or conceivable, the WEF being, for him, a “democracy-supporting institution”.
He did not make that claim, or any other of his many claims, by providing any evidence mind ypu. Just confidence in being correct with his worldview, which appears to be one based solely on an ideological bias tied to a really outdated model for talking about and understanding the world.
Especially telling is when he said if you hear someone criticizing authorities in Canada look to who is doing it. That’s the woke way!
Attack the person or organization as not being credible without ever looking at the evidence. Shouldn’t a reasonable person who believes in science as he says he does say if you hear someone criticizing authorities in Canada examine the evidence carefully!
A model of East-West good-guy/bad guy conflict is one that no one else I know with any credibility relies on anymore, and haven’t for many years!
You can draw your own conclusions. I read him as someone who hasn’t done any real research or study, perhaps ever, but is just happy with a good guy-bad guy model, reminiscing about growing up in a free country and all that kind of stuff, “Leave it to Beaver Style.”
Sounds to me like he was giving a ra-ra political speech with bluster to excite the crowd, one completely detached from reality and abstracted from the actual life we are living, never once providing a single logical argument, or any evidence, although he said he could do so, but just made blatantly false claim after claim instead.
Half of the crowd that heard what he said was shocked, I’m sure. The other half heard it with a “that’s where I’m at,” response, and gained the confidence to let him and everybody else there know that with their ruckus applause!
What they applauded was a very angry and violent response, not one opening any kind of dialogue, but effectively chastising and condemning the questioner for asking what was characterized as an unacceptably-stupid question.
For half that crowd to have given that man that kind of applause for the way he treated that questioner with such a really good question, was more than telling, not even addressing it as valid.
That core difference erupted when that group applauded, because they were not applauding any kind of “points score” in a good debate along the lines of a meaningful dialogue based on reason, they were making a public declaration then and there that they agreed with the speaker, against the questioner.
They were declaring that at they were on HIS side, his team, sharing his ideological, but unfortunately wrong conception of the world.
And I can tell you with the certainty of my very existence that the particular spirit that rose to the surface and garnered a celebratory following of support is NOT interested in the truth, and is not holy!
Thank God for the last seven minutes of the gathering, and that questioner which exposed the elephant completely hidden for the entire event up to that point, for all with “eyes able to see” to see!
SUMMARY
So where does that leave the initiative that is a really good one? An incredibly important one in fact, especially with respect to getting to the bottom of what’s going on with the monks and land?
No one wants to deal with an elephant in the room.
They’re big and cumbersome.
You could easily get stepped on if you take your eyes off them for a minute.
True.
But avoiding the elephant in the room, in this case, would be disastrous for the strategy. Why?
Again, it has to do with what is a core, fundamental difference that cannot be ignored or glossed over without that being deadly to the strategy that needs that VERY truth.
The “buying-up and taking over land” that’s happening still by the monks is happening in a different way than before, as I explained in a short Facebook post a while back.
It’s not the initial two groups GWBI and GEBIS now, it’s those three group coming from China, not Taiwan.
And yes, these 3 groups are “backed by the CCP” [ they sign the visas, with conditions], as is Bliss and Wisdom Inc., as is Frank Zhou, who boasted on his website about going to the celebration of the dictatorship with a personal invitation from Xi Jiping himself!
The group advancing this initiative to save Island land from further destruction either is interested in getting to the truth or it is not.
If they don’t want to deal with the core divide that thankfully revealed itself in the last seven minutes of the event Sunday, if they are not interested in understanding how to unite:
(1) those who know what’s going on with the WEF and the CCP and
(2) those still operating with an abstract, ideological, false framework that is now so obviously defunct that it’s really a very embarrassing position to hold [i.e., capitalism is good, socialism is evil]…
then the entire effort is a waste of time.
What’s “evil” now in the world is not any “system” we imagine and theorize about in our mind, but the ACTUAL powerful people lying to us daily and seeking to gain every-greater control over us and the planet.
That’s a group of people comprised of individuals who are the wealthiest in the world, but who rose to the top both within the Eastern and Western societies in essentially the same International economic system of liberalized trade.
To hear Mr. Cardy refer to the questioner [and those following the idea he put forth, which was an excellent, obviously-informed, intelligent question], as “useful idiots” betraying our Western way of life in dumb support of totalitarianism Russia-style….well, that was pretty hard to hear.
There is just no evidence for that position whatsoever, and no matter how stupid you are in doing research, you couldn’t NOT discover that even if you were trying NOT to, while searching the internet, or scrolling social media even, yet somehow Mr. Cardy has been able to evade the truth completely all these years while speaking as an expert about how the “guise” of free speech is producing those “useful idiots” for Putin because of “disinformation”.
He equated the WEF to democracy, and other post-second world war institutions supporting Western democracy!
Then he spoke against China, characterizing it as an evil dictatorship seemingly having nothing to do with democracy, and for which we should stand against at all times, at all costs.
China is certainly not the kind of organization he sees as involved with freedom-loving organizations like the World Economic Forum. And yet.
Wow!
What a road of education ahead for that poor chap if he’s ever going to come to the truth.
His very foundational premise is completely false, and pretty easy to prove as such….it’s like he’s living in an world from the past that doesn’t exist anymore.
He says our problems are our own fault…that “we have no one to blame but ourselves,” but man, on that point, he’s dangerously wrong!
China is all about the WEF!
He claimed the WEF was just another post-second world war institution created by the West! Nothing could be further from the truth.
The WEF was founded in 1971 by Klaus Schwab, a business professor at the University of Geneva, hand-picked by George Soros, a global billionaire, the real money and ideology behind the WEF.
It was first named the “European Management Forum” and had NOTHING to do with any governments or politicians in it’s inception, but was completely private.
One has only to go to the WEF page to see that every major financial entity in China is a “partner” of the WEF including:
China Bohai Bank
China Construction Bank
China Energy Investment
China General Technology (Group) Holding
China Huaneng Group
China Merchants Group (CMG)
China Petrochemical Corporation (Sinopec Group)
China Southern Power Grid
China UnionPay
Chindata Group
Chip Mong Group
Circle Internet Financial
On top of that, China contributes more to the WEF than Canada.
Let’s pray that Mr. Cardy gets an awakening soon, before someone does to him what that guard initially did to Saint Paul before he realized he was a bona fide citizen deserving respect.
As for whoever organized the forum, I would say there is no prospect for success on a go-forward basis unless one of two things happen:
It is not possible to discover the truth you need to achieve your goal when you have to hide that very truth to maintain unity with those you believe you need as supporters to find the truth you need to achieve your goal. Thinking a false unity can be overlooked will be fatal.
That’s not always the case mind you – you can ignore differences when there’s focus on one thing that all agree on, and the differences are not essential truths. That does not impede the group from working together to achieve a shared goal.
But that’s only possible when the truth that needs to ignored to maintain unity is not the truth being sought, which is not the case in this situation, as I read it.
The only way forward is therefore rigorous honesty – where evidence is welcomed, dialogue is cherished, and with those involved proceeding with shrewdness [while maintaining innocence] and with the courage to confront the elephant in the room.
While doing that, also being careful not to regard any member of the group worthy of condemnation, derision, insults, anger or violence of any kind.
That’s what the questioner got from Cardy, magnified then by a goodly portion of the crowd supporting that panelist: it’s a bit of a shame someone didn’t call him out for doing that.
We can never forget for a minute that the warfare in which we are now engaged is with real enemies, but is primarily spiritual in nature.
Yes, both the capitalists and communists want to take our land. In fact, the powerful of the world want to take everything they can away from us to exert control over our material lives, our economy, and even our future.
We can fight to prevent that, and we should, but if we can’t do that united in one spirit, we’d be better off not trying at all. How could any effort possibly succeed when those fighting for justice can’t agree on who the enemy is?
We must never lose sight of what we FOR SURE can ensure can never be taken from us and protect that!
As long as we are true and obedient to what is good…well, that’s even more important than our land… we are talking about our integrity, souls!

Great article Kevin. I'm "the cowboy" that about half the roof seemed to hate. It seems like you see the same things about cardy that I, and many of my friends see... not to mention the money CSIS and RCMP have wasted spying on me, personally, among other friends, because we're willing to speak publicly about people like Cardy. We chatted a bit about Cardy, CSIS and RCMP in the second hour of our show this week and highlighted our concerns with him and his involvement in this effort to get info about CCP out to islanders (https://t.co/H30hQwUg9y)
We should grab a coffee some time.. I don't think we've ever had a in-depth conversation about any of this stuff, though I think we're on the same page for a lot of it.
