It is the book, and the messaging in that book, that has me challenging this so vigorously, and I’m only doing it publicly because all our leaders at provincial and municipal levels are apparently the sort of men and women who either have no morals or backbones!

 

The messaging in this book is one of HATE. Reading it to kids represents a dangerous occasion for Mr. Parktrash drag queen to plant divisive seeds of disagreement and disgust (against the “white haired man, aka “anti-gay marriage VP Mike Pence) in little children.

 

They will leave loving the bunny, and thinking there is really something awful about that white-haired man for not being happy for little gay bunny finding love.

 

This message is against people who are truly tolerant of other people, but who disagree with the radical liberalization of sex in our culture accompanied by the virtual abolition of respect and acceptance for the Christian worldview that does not recognize gay marriage as part of the Will or Plan of God!

 

It is this messaging that to not be a stupid old ‘hater’ – in the context of a grown man in a dress wearing heavy makeup reading the story to kids, with warm smiles from all the supporting adults standing around, believing they are so ‘progressive’ – is my big problem with the entire event – the messaging!!

 

It is titled: “Marlon Bundo’s A Day in the Life of the Vice President,”

and presents A Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo, a takeoff of the book that Pence’s wife, Karen, and daughter Charlotte wrote about the family’s pet.

 

From the moment he hopped into the home of America’s “Second Family,” black-and-white bunny rabbit Marlon Bundo captured the hearts of Vice President Mike Pence, his wife Karen, and his children Michael, Charlotte, and Audrey.

 

But he isn’t just a family pet: like Peter Rabbit and Bugs Bunny before him, Marlon—or BOTUS (Bunny of the United States)—is a national celebrity! With his appearances at official White House events, his rides on Air Force 2, and his popular Instagram account, Marlon Bundo had become a beloved member of the Trump-Pence administration.

But in the parody book, Marlon Bundo is gay and marries another boy bunny, a satirical nod to the vice president’s stance against same-sex marriage.

 

The book was banned from many public libraries [347 challenges last year to have the book removed from public libraries, which are defined as formal requests to have books removed from libraries and schools], such as the one in Orance, Idaho, because, in Orance at least, a large enough number of citizens convinced the town officials that the book “…indoctrinated children and pushed an agenda the community did not agree with.”

 

It’s a simple and endearing story designed to win an emotional, heart response for the little gay bunny who finds love (and sex) with another gay bunny. Love wins eh! The slogan that never needs to be explained!

 

The “seed” planted deep in the hearts of those little – and they MUST BE LITTLE (10 or younger only, the poster says) for the seed to take root deep – is one that will see many turn against their own parents as “haters”.

 

 

Because it conflates the idea of “love” with “sex” to such an extent that it equates them – confusing the important distinctions that explain how, for example, their parents trying to following our Lord and Savior Jesus are, like Jesus, TRULY LOVING and wish and pray that all people come to the knowledge and experience of God’s great love and mercy, but can still disapprove of other’s beliefs and behaviors.

 

Trans folk and drag queens don’t plant seeds of inclusion [only seeds demanding unconditional acceptance of what they want accepted]. They don’t engender love and kindness toward everyone in their approach, but refer to those not agreeing with them as “haters’.

 

Christians teach and believe that we must be loving to all, regardless of beliefs, or the state of the physical appearance or even the current state of the soul of others! To say Christians are, by definition ‘haters’ because they don’t agree with gay sex being moral or part of God’s plan is pure intolerance.

 

The submission to the Montague School was referred to by the leader of the group representing a tiny minority of people on PEI trying to “normalize” what is not normal, by any definition, within our schools, on the false pretense that not to do so would be to side with the ‘haters’ who are not supportive of gay, lesbian and trans people.

 

This is the big lie! The exact opposite is, in fact, the case. The “official response” to opposition to things like men in dresses reading such books as the gay bunny book to our kids, with parents standing around smiling and approving, is that it INSTILLS a message at an age that is a LIE!!!!!

As those kids grow and listen to their parents try to explain how there is ‘wisdom’ and ‘order’ in God’s great creation, which we can see with the eyes of faith, and when we see it, we see God’s will, and how sex has a beauty and mystery and depth that goes so far beyond the titillation of pleasure zones and the glorification of one’s human will in the context of God’s plan for creation – God is love, but God’s love is creative!

 

God’s creation of human sexual love was clearly designed for creation, to which we, as creatures “created in God’s image” are called to recognize, honour and follow. To see a penis being created for a vagina and not an anus may be classified now by the non-thinking as ‘hate’ – but to those who love God it is wisdom of God to which we bow and are obedient.

To let people who regard this core way of seeing the world – a worldview based on the belief that it was created by, and belongs to God; notwithstanding the fact it is currently under the reign of Satan for the time being – plant those seeds in the hearts and minds of our children is to allow them to sow seeds of discourse that will, in many instance, bear fruit in family chaos and division.

 

There are already thousands of parents out there who will tell you that what I am saying, they have already experienced, as they have been “cut-off” by their own children, condemned as archaic relics of “hate” from the past days that are fast disappearing…..

 

I would so love to have a public debate with Mr. Treyla Trash! I’d expose his hate and hopefully, convince him that what I do I do out of love and care for our children, and to make a modest effort to put an end to the irrational sense of entitlement grown men in women’s cloths think they have as ambassadors of truth and goodness in society.

 

I don’t believe it is God’s plan – gay marriage – but don’t try to get access to the children of those people I know disagree with me to plant a seed in their kids that will turn them against their ‘two dads or moms’! I don’t agree – but I truly respect their rights within our democratic society. I would contend they are ‘confused’ and seek a conversation – a rational discussion – regarding their position.

I would suspect they don’t have a belief in God, or if they do, not the same understanding of God I have, and that’s fine. Still not haters in my mind! Nor do I hate such people, or would ever encourage anyone to be anything but kind – but that doesn’t mean I have to give in to demands that are ludicrously unwarranted, smacking of the kind of antics I remember having to endure with each of my four kids as they travelled through their “terrible twos”.
