Today is the feast day for the presentation of the Lord. The attached is part of the second reading in the Liturgy of the Word.
I was moved to share this reading because my peace and freedom truly rests in not fearing death. It seems those unable or unwilling to put their trust in the Lord are left in such a perpetual state of fear and anxiety these days as to be easy targets for manipulation and slavery.
Fear confuses and weakens!

Just as mRNA injections weaken the immune system making us unable to fight-off physical attacks from viruses or whatnot, constant fear-mongering injected into our minds weakens our spirit, making us anxious for the future and fearful of death.

I look forward to the future, and try to follow St Paul’s advice:

“Set your minds on the things that are above, not on the things that are on earth.” [Colossians 3:2].

Although the spiritual warfare is raging now, our part is a lot easier than we may think: we just need to trust the victor, Jesus!

The outcome is already decided, the victory won on the cross, a victory made manifest in the resurrection and ascension, and I, through the mercy and love of God, am part of the winning team.

That makes the challenge for me now one of simply enduring in faithfulness and obedience, nothing more than trusting the promises of God and being obedient to his commands revealed by Jesus in Scripture.

From the moment he was born, Jesus endured the same physical, mental, full-human experience of pain and suffering in life as we all do. But far more, having nowhere to lay his head, and in the end, was tortured and killed mercilessly though innocent, unable to find a single person to comfort him, all so we can share in the very life of God?

What could possibly separate us from that but our own decision?

“Neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” [Romans 8:3-5].

To be fully human is to live in the glory of God!
There’s nothing “transhuman” ie., anything ‘above’ or beyond human that’s even imaginable that matches that!!
So how could anyone be interested in “transhumanism” when the ultimate “trans” conceivable, God, became one of us out of pure love, giving us a way to life eternal and a reason not to have to fear and live in slavery?

How?…by living one’s life with a fear of death, leaving one attached to this world, assailed by one’s passions and appetites that are purely physical and temporal, and vulnerable to the influences of the demonic… that’s how!
