It makes me cry to think of how much money is being wasted pushing propaganda to establish queer culture in PEI when that money could be used to HELP people who desperately need concrete resources for the bare essentials of life.

No group fits that bill more than families suffering with a family member with Alzheimer’s!

One can only imagine the cash-strapped non-profit group’s program committee members looking at their options for 2024 programming, realizing there’s NO money for anything but anti-racism, climate change, and pushing 2slgbtqia+ ideology!

If money wasn’t an issue, I’m quite sure the programming decisions would be different!

Here’s how I imagine that programming decision happening.

HYPOTHETICAL MEETING OF THE 2-MEMBER [FLORENCE & FRANK] PROGRAM COMMITTEE OF THE PEI ALZHEIMER’S SOCIETY”

FRANK: “Well Florence, It wouldn’t be my choice, but there’s no money for anything else and we have to do something or we’ll just look incompetent and might as well just resign from the committee!”

FLORENCE: “Yes, yes, I know Frank, but it just don’t seem right spending all that money for this kind of thing when so many of our members need money for their medical needs… on a conference I don’t think we need.

That just don’t feel right to me Frank. I mean, do you know anyone with Alzheimer’s in PEI crying out for special care because of their sexual orientation? And are our health professionals not now capable of providing Healthcare politely and professionally to all Islanders? I’ve never heard anyone ever even mention such a thing let alone demanding something be done about it!”

FRANK: “Nor have I Florence. Nor have I. Look, I’m not arguing with you. I’m just saying we don’t really have that much of a choice…. it’s that or nothing. I see here that the Guardian’s willing to sponsor, hmmm…at least we’d get lots of free advertising and profiling for the organization. that could do some good.”

FLORENCE: “That’s a good point. Okay Frank, I guess you’re right… give Sean Casey a call and tell him to run with the damn thing.”
