Stop trying to “see” Jesus – “be” Jesus!
From today’s Gospel:
“But Herod said, ‘John I beheaded. Who then is this about whom I hear such things?’ And HE KEPT TRYING TO SEE HIM.” [Luke 9:8-9]

While living on earth, we will not “see” Jesus without an extraordinary miracle. If you don’t know who Jesus is, and you need to see him before getting to know him, then you will never learn who he really is, just like Herod.
Thomas the “doubting Apostle” was like Herod, declaring his UNBELIEF until he saw Jesus “in the flesh”:
“They told him [Thomas], ‘We have seen the Lord!’ But he replied, ‘I won’t believe it unless I see…’ “ [John 20:25].
Jesus bestowed a unique grace and gift on Thomas appearing to him despite his unbelief, but then stated for our benefit:
“Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” [John 20:29].
Those with such faith are the channels of God’s transformative and Holy Will on earth:
“Jesus replied, ‘Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done.” [Mark 11:23].
“Seeing is believing!” as the saying goes, but believing is far more than that!
However, one needs the Wisdom of God to have unwavering faith like that, so if you don’t have it, ask the Holy Spirit for Wisdom – and truly BELIEVE you will receive it with single-minded resolve, and you will:
“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.” [James 1:5-6].“Believing in Jesus” is the door that we open to invite Jesus into our hearts to work in us and to manifest Himself through us to others still without faith, so they too, like Thomas, can come to understand who Jesus really is, and just what he looks like! The perfect image of holy LOVE & divine MERCY.
