I’m publishing a mini-series of posts today on PEI’s population to relay some key insights about the status of PEI’s population, with an eye to uncovering a few prominent indicators and trends.

 

Let’s start with the “big picture” – the actual composition of our population and how it’s changing.

 

I don’t need to belabour the point here. You can see in the attached data chart and notes how our “exponential growth” (as portrayed by Statistics Canada offering projections for PEI’s 3rd Quarter population growth) is ENTIRELY based on foreigners coming to PEI, either as landed, “Permanent Immigrants,” or as “International Migrants”.

 

The most important facts to highlights for me are the following three:

 

1. Negative birth-rate: 349 births; 362 deaths.

2. Second highest rate of immigration growth in Canada

If anyone thought the PNP program was over (we never hear about it from government or media AT ALL) you were sadly mistaken – the rate of immigrant growth in PEI was – for the last recorded quarter – THE SECOND LARGEST QUARTERLY GROWTH in the country, with 825 IMMIGRANTS Ponder that for a minute: 825 new immigrants to PEI in THREE MONTHS!.

3. International Migration: There are currently nearly 12,000 people living in PEI who are not immigrants (ie., legal RESIDENTS of Canada, with the vast majority never even subject to a security clearance to be here).

This category of our population saw over 2,200 people in the third quarter of 2023 arrive, a number that would include people coming from China associated with the Buddhists.

 

Ponder that for a moment, Islanders sleeping in their cars and over 2,200 people invited here by our government in just 3 months, which was, according to the accompanying notes, THE LARGEST QUARTERLY INFLUX OF INTERNATIONAL MIGRANTS INTO PEI EVER!

I decided to ask for donations in a few sentences here at the end of a post. I only want to appeal to people reading what I publish.

 

I was going to make a case for why you should donate something to support my work if you can, with a long-winded series of arguments and facts culminating in a “Send your donation by email transfer to kja321@gmail.com…..”, but decided to share just the following information with only those who read my stuff:

 

1. I’m currently living off-grid and need funds to purchase gas for the generator to have electricity to run my laptop….all the posts you’ve seen over the past month, well, I’ve done them on my phone. I have not been able to get to my ‘coming soon’ Monkileaks.

Truth is I had to go “out-of-pocket” by borrowing to renew my website and domain. I’m increasingly concerned that the work I’m doing and the information I’m trying to get to people ISN’T getting t o the people who need it as a result of FB restrictions on my account. My whole strategy with a new website was to get free from those restrictions to increase the likelihood of being able to help more people, especially our fellow Islanders.

 

2. If you can’t afford to support me, no problem….I follow a lot of people who I can’t afford to support financially. If you CAN part with $10, then please do so (that’s 1/2 hr generator and “online time” with my laptop, and probably the best part of an on the monks, which Islanders really need to read. Thankyou to everyone in advance who takes the time to support me – and here’s a little ‘mnemonic device’ to remind you when it counts [when you’re doing online banking]: “I’M GOING TO HEAVEN – DONATE TO KEVIN!”

 

Now try to remember that when you log on to your bank next time: “I’m going to heaven – donate to Kevin!”

3. The only other thing I want to say is that I will put all donations I receive toward expenses with my work, which isn’t going to be too difficult because I’ve gotten myself into debt with expenses now and have a good ways to go to off-set the out-of-pocket expenses I’ve amassed, especially associated with my new website now sitting idle and my actual research, writing and publication of material.
